Were can i find a bar mitzvah dress under $50?

Lorraine asked:

I am 13 years old and am invited to my best guy friends bar mitzvah. I have super curyly/puffy red hair, am on the chunky side (not overyly fat but I think you get the point.), and 5 foot 4 and have brown/ green eyes, it depends on the day. My budget is $40-50. Thanks! Oh and what do you give as a gift for them. I know you usually give money but how much? Thanks!

My daughter is going to attend twins’ Bat Mitzvahs. Are we expected to give a double gift?

Rob asked:

They are my daughter’s classmates, but they don’t really socialize together outside of school. Usually, the gift for the Bar or Bat Mitzvah of a classmate (i.e., not a good friend) is meant to cover the cost of the guest’s attendance at the party. Since there’s only one party here, do we need to give a double gift? It is quite a lot of money.

Bar Mitzvah etiquette?

Juliuliwuli asked:

We’ve been invited to a Bar Mitzvah. The ceremony is on Friday and the reception is Saturday evening. We are unable to make it to the ceremony, but would very much like to celebrate with them at the reception. Is it ok to attend one and not the other. We will, of course be bringing a gift. I can remember people attending my Confirmation reception, but not the ceremony, but I certainly don’t want to offend.
